I READ with dismay that the “little people” have had a resounding win with Port Stephens Council against the proposed Telstra mobile phone tower at Corlette.
Councillor John Nell said the tower “carried unproven health impacts . . . on children”. Well yes, they’re unproven because they don’t exist.
The radiation levels are less than 1 per cent of the allowable limits. I’m sure the jubilant protesters returned to their beachside suburb which is obviously devoid of electromagnetic radiation. Apart from the free-to-air TV, radio, wireless modems, cordless phones, microwaves, or anything else that uses EM radiation.
In fact the most dangerous EM radiation comes from the sun. Maybe they could lobby the council to have it removed from their suburb?
